LAURENS – Marsha Rochelle Rudko of Laurens, 70, retired teacher, passed away peacefully Sept. 17, 2014, following a very short battle with brain cancer.

She was born Sept. 2, 1944, in The Bronx, and lived most of her life on Long Island before settling in Laurens. For the past few years, she worked as a teacher’s aide at Opportunities for Otsego’s Head Start Program.

She is survived by her beloved family: husband Heinz “Buddy” Rudko; son Robert of New York; son David of Keller, Texas, and his wife Crystal and their children Natalie, Brooke, Meagan and Zoe; daughter Lori Erario of Oneonta, and her husband Billy and their children Brandon and Alyson; and daughter Linda Amato of Oneonta and her husband Rich and their children Richy and Lily.

Marsha was by her mother Thelma Massarek last month, and her brother Howard in 2003.

Calling hours ate 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home. The funera will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the burial immediately following.
