The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that traffic along a portion of State Route 80 in the Town of Otsego – approximately four miles north of the Village of Cooperstown – in Otsego County will be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic controlled by temporary signals until further notice because of damage to the roadway sustained during last weekend’s severe weather. NYSDOT appreciates the public’s patience as we continue to assess the damage and work to expedite repairs on this important roadway.
With the influx of traffic anticipated for the upcoming Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies, motorists should expect delays and plan accordingly. Portable Variable Messaging Signs have been placed to alert motorists.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
