Oneonta Man Charged With Rape, Burglary

ONEONTA – Oneonta Police arrested Montaville L. Richardson, 24, Oneonta, yesterday, alleging he entered the home of an acquaintance and sexually assaulted her on Thanksgiving Day.

On Thursday, Nov. 26, police allege that Mr. Richardson entered the home of an acquaintance without permission and had sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent.

He was charged with rape in the first degree, a class B felony, and burglary in the second degree, a class C felony.  He was held at the City of Oneonta Police Department until arraignment at the City of Oneonta Court.

The maximum punishment or a class B felony is a term of incarceration not to exceed 25 years. The maximum punishment for a class C felony is a term of incarceration not to exceed 15 years.
