It was a bittersweet tableau a few minutes ago as Mohawk Valley REDC officials received an annual CFA allocation – but not the $1/2 billion hoped for from the governor’s Upstate Revitalization Initiative.  Representing Otsego County were county Rep. Craig Gelbsman, R-Oneonta, front row, right; Assemblyman Bill Magee, behind Gelbsman; county Board Chair Kathy Clark, R-Otego, front row, third from right; and state Sen. Jim Seward, R-Milford, upper left.

ALBANY – The Cuomo Administration announced a few minutes ago that Otsego County’s economic development region won’t receive $1/2 billion from the Upstate Revitalization Initiative.

The Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, and Syracuse-centric Central NY Region will share the $1.5 billion.

The Mohawk Valley region was named a “top performer” among the REDCs and will receive $100.3 million in state economic-development funding, more than any of the first four years of the program.
