2 Arrested In Oneonta

ONEONTA – Nearly $3,000 worth of marijuana and Xanax were seized and two Oneonta residents arrested yesterday afternoon in an apartment on Cliff Street.

Cody D. Schlafer, 25 and Bryan J. VanDuesen, 33, were arrested after Oneonta Police served a search warrant at their apartments on Cliff Street.  Police allegedly discovered 2.5 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of $2,500, 185 prescription Xanax pills valued at $1,000, 120 packages of marijuana edibles worth $600 and $8,805 in cash.

Both were charged Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the Second Degree, a class D felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fifth degree, a class D feony and Conspiracy in the fourth degree, a class E. felony.  If convicted of all charges, they face a maximum off 33 years incarceration

Mr. VanDuesen and Mr. Schlafer were held pending arraignment in the City of Oneonta Court.  The investigation is continuing.
