Mowers, 63, who retired from the Oneonta Fire Department after 25 years in 1999, having served as secretary for many years, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Dec. 18, 2015. Jerry was born March 31, 1952, in Fort Dix, N.J., the eldest child of Gordon and Betty (Kingsley) Mowers.  The family moved to Oneonta shortly after his birth where he spent most of his life.…
