ONEONTA – Calling hours for Rose Ann Hassick, 64, a longtime Wilber Bank employee, will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Grummons Funeral Home.  A graveside service is planned in the spring.

Rose passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 at Fox Hospital.

She was born on Oct. 14, 1951 in Oneonta, the daughter of Carmen Joseph Vagliardo Sr. and Verna O’Rourke.    She graduate from OHS in 1969, and received a certificate in business administration from Utica School of Commerce.

She married Michael H. Hassick on Aug. 20, 1971, in Milford Center.

After many years at Wilber Bank, she eventually retired from Oneonta Job Corps, where she was a data integrity clerk.

Rose enjoyed bowling on the local Strike & Spare league and playing softball on the City Softball League.  She would often volunteer as score keeper for the men’s softball games. She was an avid crocheter and gifted many afghans to family & friends.

She was a member of the Oneonta Moose Lodge #465.

A devoted grandmother and natural caregiver, Rose was always there to help and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael Hassick of Oneonta; a son, Robert and Janine Hassick of Canajoharie; a son, Brian and Kristina Hassick of Milford; four grandchildren, Kyle, Marina, Logan and Josh; her father, Carmen Vagliardo, Sr. of Winter Haven, Fla; a brother, Carmen Jr. and Vicki Vagliardo of Oneonta; a brother James and Margot Vagliardo of Stroudsburg, PA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her mother, Verna O’Rourke.

The  graveside service will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta.
