SPRINGFIELD – Farm Credit East, which provides loans, crop insurance and other financial services to farmers in 19 offices throughout the Northeast, plans to consolidate its Cobleskill and Sangerfield offices on Route 80, Town of Springfield.
The company will have “40 jobs, day one,” according to attorney Douglas Zamelis, who is representing the company locally, and will expand to 50 jobs “solid, good-paying jobs.”
Altonview Architect, Cooperstown, has designed a low-profile building that would be rise on 13 acres of the former Ryerson estate, across Route 80 from the Otsego Golf Course. The company, which bought the whole property from Jay Bernhardt, formerly of Richfield Springs, will put the other 26 acres back on the market.
The town Planning Board, which was briefed on the project earlier this month, has schedule a public hearing before at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, at the Town Center in Springfield Center.
