Delaware Deputies Arrest
Bronx Man, Seize Heroin


DAVENPORT – Delaware County deputies Tuesday arrested a Bronx man in a motel room just beyond Otsego County’s borders and report seizing 65 bags of heroin, 17 individual “wraps” of crack cocaine, two grams of powdered cocaine, a small quantity of marijuana and $1,000.
Pate Balde, 21, was arrested at the Rock Inn Motel on Route 23, Town of Davenport, and charged with two class B felony charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, third degree, and marijuana possession, a violation Balde is accused of possessing heroin and cocaine with intent to sell them from the motel room.
The Delaware deputies’ canine Ozzie led the raid. Oneonta city police and state troopers participated in the investigation.
Balde was arraigned before Town Justice Jacqueline Lamport in the Town of Stamford Court, where he was remanded to the Delaware County jail in lieu of $150,000 cash bail pending further court proceedings.

“These law enforcement partnerships are vital to identifying, arresting and prosecuting drug dealers who have no geographical limitations and are more frequently staying in one community and distributing their drugs in another community to avoid detection and prosecution,” he added.
