Glens Falls Brewing

Oneonta Company In Expansion Mode

northern eagle beverage copyONEONTA – Northern Eagle Beverages announced a few minutes ago it will be purchasing Glens Falls Brewing Co. shortly.

Located in Queensbury, near Lake George, the brewery was founded in 2014 to help Davidson Brothers Brewing, Glens Falls, expand its brands throughout the Northeast.  Davidson Brothers is not part of the purchase.

Glens Falls Brewing joins Northern Eagle’s Cooperstown Brewing Co., Milford, purchased in April 2014.  As the Milford brewery was undergoing renovations, Cooperstown Brewing’s beers were brewed under contract with Glens Falls, since both used Peter Austin Brewing systems.

“We have worked very closely with each other over the past couple of years,” said Northern Eagle President George Allen.  “I think we are very comfortable with each other.”

Future plans are for Glens Falls Brewery to add lagering tanks and a canning line, and to add facilities to make craft soda and other non-alcohol lines.

“The location in Queensbury and its proximity to the Lake George region made this property idea for our future growth plans,” Allen said.  He hopes to see Glens Falls Brewing expand to a “must-stop location for locals as well as tourists.”

Northern Eagle opened a new $6.8 million, 68,000-square-foot refrigerated facility in the Town of Oneonta in May, and plans have been to add a new Cooperstown Brewing brewery in 2018.
