Empire Carousel Creator
Here For 10th Anniversary
Gerry Holzman of Islip, L.I., reunes this afternoon with Freddie de Frogge, his favorite carving on The Farmers’ Museum’s Empire State Carousel in Cooperstown. Holzman, who pursued the carousel’s creation for 20th years, then negotiated its move to Cooperstown, is back for the 10th anniversary of its installation here, to be commemorated with a ceremony at noon Saturday at the carousel. Additionally, Holzman will be giving tours at 11 a.m., and 1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Plus, face painting, games, balloons and other activities for children. (Jim Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
