Traffic Signals Put On Route 28
For Road Work After Labor Day
COOPERSTOWN – Contractors for the state Department of Transportation today began installing temporary traffic signals on outer Glen Avenue (Route 28), in preparation for culvert work that will begin after Labor Day.
There will be alternating lanes of traffic on that section of Route 28, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily through Wednesday, Aug. 17. When the culvert work is in progress, the signals will funnel traffic into single alternating lanes.
DOT reminds drivers that fines are doubled for work zone infractions. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
