3 Candidates Raise Range Of Issues

At Cheerful Forum At Village Hall

In opening statements at the League of Women's Candidates Forum that ended a few minutes ago, John Sansevere, Republican candidate for Cooperstown Village Board, says, "I'm not running against anyone; I'm running for the people ... As trustees, we have to worry about the people who live here." Incumbent Democrat Jim Dean, right, who spoke first, said, "We're very fortunate that we have the village that we have to build on," and is looking forward to working with "bright people" on the board for another term. Incumbent Democrat Cindy Falk, second from left, ticked off four initiatives still to be completed that prompted her to seek another term: revising the 1994 comprehensive plan; the solar project; the downtown sidewalks and Chestnut-Main intersection upgrade, and infrastructure repair. At left is Stephanie Bauer, moderator. Polls will be open noon-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at the firehouse. (Jim Kevlin/allotsego.com)
