Suspect Faces 1st-Degree Murder
In Death Of Morris 11-Year-Old
MORRIS – James R. Brower, 36, of 961 Route 33, Norwich, is under arrest, charged with first-degree murder in Sunday’s death of an 11-year-old girl from Morris.
No further details were provided in a press release issued at 9:44 a.m. today by Trooper Nathan Riegal, Troop C public information officer.
At 11:13 a.m. Sunday morning, troopers from the Norwich barracks responded to a call to the home, where they found Jacelyn D. O’Connor of Morris in “cardiac arrest.” “Further investigation determined the decedent was the victim of a homicide,” the initial press release, issued yesterday, said.
Brower was arraigned before Chenango County Judge Frank Revoir, who sent him to county jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. tomorrow in Norwich Town Court.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office and the Chenango County District Attorney’s Office assisted with this investigation.
