5 Cooperstown EMTs Honored

For Answering Over 1,000 Calls

The Cooperstown Volunteer Fire Department last evening honored five members who have responded to more than 1,000 calls for the Cooperstown Emergency Squad.  From left are, Kevin “Kap” Preston, Steve Clancy, Vic Carrascoso, Frank Capozza and Eric Pierce.   Steve and Frank also hold the plaques bearing the names of all members who have surpassed the 1,000-call mark.  Preston, Clancy, Capozza and Pierce are also drivers/firefighters. The two most-discussed topics at the Cooperstown Village Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, August 26 had trustees looking both low and high across the village landscape. On the one hand was an issue related to amending a Special Use Permit in order to allow the construction of dwellings over a stream and culvert on a private property in the village. On the other hand was whether to pursue a request made by interested parties to update village law in order to allow signs to be hung from utility poles in the village.…
