IN MEMORIAM: Valerie VanValkenburgh, 34,
Stamford; Keyboard Specialist At ONC BOCES
STAMFORD – Valerie A. VanValkenburgh, 34, ONC BOCES keyboard specialist here, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Feb. 15, 2019.
Valerie was born on Dec. 24, 1984 in Cobleskill, and was the only daughter of Vance and Georgianna (VanValkenburgh) Wetmore. On July 1, 2006 Valerie married Robin VanValkenburgh in the Hobart United Methodist Church.
Valerie was both a member of the Hobart United Methodist Church and the Harpersfield United Methodist Church.
Her hobbies included shopping on Amazon, but really enjoyed all kinds of shopping. She enjoyed hiking and swimming, but her biggest passion was caring for her family; especially her daughter Paige.
Valerie is survived by her husband Robin VanValkenburgh; her daughter, Paige VanValkenburgh; parents Vance and Georgianna (GiGi) Wetmore; brother Ryan (Kristi) Wetmore; niece Lauren; nephew Mason; paternal grandparents Bill and Dorothy Wetmore; maternal grandfather George VanValkenburgh Sr. and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is predeceased by her grandmother (Nanny), Mamie VanValkenburgh.
Family and friends are invited to visitation hours on 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Hobart United Methodist Church, 186 Maple Ave., Hobart, NY 13788 with cousin and Pastor Lara Govendo officiating. A memorial service will begin at the end of visitation.
