Often engulfed in smoke, Milford firefighters pour water on Matt Jahnke’s home at 150 North Main Street, Milford, which broke out at 11:30 a.m. today. By early afternoon, the blaze was under control, but fire police continued to divert traffic on Route 28 to Oxbow Road and Route 33. It appears the fire start at the back of the house, perhaps in a kitchen. At the height of the blaze, the smoke could be seen from Hartwick Seminary and the north and coming out of Portlandville on the south. (Jim Kevlin/allotsego.com)
