Already, Turnout Almost Doubles
Over 2014 Cooperstown Election
As of 15 minutes ago, 174 voters had already cast ballots in today’s Cooperstown village election, almost double the 94 ballots cast in last year’s balloting. The polls will be open at the fire house on Chestnut Street until 9 p.m. in the first contested Village Board election since 2011. Democratic incumbents Jim Dean and Cindy Falk are being challenged by Republican newcomer John Sansevere for two vacant seats. Here, Election Inspectors Tom Lyons, left, and Tom Heitz process voters.
