ONEONTA – Oneonta native Anthony Eardley will take on the warped wall and the log grip as he competes on NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” later this month.
“It’s very exciting. We’re thrilled,” said his mother Angela, co-owner of the former Oneonta Stallions football team, now in Binghamton.
Eardley, 28, has not even been a Ninja warrior for two years, but after almost beating a top-rated Ninja in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Fitness Event in Ohio, talent scouts took notice. Soon after, he was invited to be on “American Ninja Warrior.”
He will first compete to become one of the top 32 warriors and then to become one of 15 finalists. Those finalists will then compete in Las Vegas over the summer.
Angela and her husband Bill will be on the sidelines to watch their son compete with the show is filmed on April 29 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Eardley’s episode will air at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29.
“We want everyone to see Anthony representing New York State on the show,” Angela Eardley said.
