IN MEMORIAM: Gwendolyn J. Griffin, 80;
Operated Oil Distributorship In Worcester
WORCESTER – Gwendolyn J. Griffin, 80, who operated Cash Oil in Worcester with her husband, George, passed away April 7, 2019, at Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.
She was born May 19, 1938, in Troy, the daughter of Joseph H. and Lena Myrtle (Murdough) Webb. Gwendolyn married George F. Griffin Sr. on July 12, 1953, in South Lancaster, Mass.
While she lived in Worcester for 61 years, she spent many winters in Haines City, Fla. Gwendolyn was a member of the Red Hat Society in Florida.
She is survived by her children, George Jr. and wife, Melody Griffin, Cheryl and husband, William Ferris, Laura and husband, Roger Butler, Cynthia and husband, Joseph Chesko, Linda and husband, Paul Wiener, Bonnie and husband, Timothy Marine and David Griffin; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Sanborn; brother, Joseph and wife, Shirley Webb; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, George, on April 7, 2010.
A graveside service will be held in the Russell Mead Cemetery in Carmel, at a later date.
