Fundraiser Saturday For Bryce Miller,

Preemie Baby Being Treated In Albany

ONEONTA – A pancake breakfast and Chinese auction to benefit the premature baby son of Patrick and Christina Miller of Mount Vision is planned 9 a.m-12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at SUNY Oneonta’s Morris Conference Center.  A fund-raising campaign is also underway at http://www.gofundme.com/nijnes

The Millers welcome their son, Bryce Patrick, into the world on Feb.25, 10 weeks too soon. Bryce weighed just 1 pound, 9 ounces, and had a variety of medical problems associated with being premature. He is getting stronger every day in the Albany Medical Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where he has had several blood transfusions and battled infection and breathing problems.

Christina has been staying at the Ronald McDonald House, and Patrick has been commuting back and forth from the family’s farm in Mount Vision.

Friends, family and co-workers organized the benefit to help defray the costs of travel and other expenses. Breakfast will be $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Chinese Auction drawings will start at 11:30 a.m. Winners need not be present. More than 30 businesses and individuals have donated Chinese Auction items ranging from homemade jewelry and woodwork to gift certificates and themed gift baskets.
