All But Two Of 17 Testify

Against Hotel Before ZBA

Former village Planning Board chair Charlie Hill tells the Zoning Board of Appeals this evening, "I'm concerned this proposed structure goes way to far." He was among 17 who testified at a ZBA hearing on a proposed downtown hotel for Cooperstown; only two who testified favored the project. ZBA chair Susan Snell outlined eight variances, all having to do with height, that will be necessary for the hotel project to move forward. After closing the hearing, the ZBA decided to wait to vote on the height question until its next meeting, Tuesday, June 2. The Village Board has schedule a hearing for Monday, June 29, on the special permit it must issue before any hotel project can go forward in the Business District. (Jim Kevlin/allotsego.com)
