Plotted To Steal From Smokers Choice

ONEONTA – After calling to report a robbery at the Smokers Choice on Sunday, clerk Morgan D. Reichart, 20, found herself in handcuffs, charged with conspiring with Mark A Briley Jr. to steal money from the store and report the theft as a robbery.

Reichart, 20, was charged with Grand Larceny, fifth degree, a class E felony, Conspiracy in the fifth degree and Making a Punishable False Written Statement and Falsely Reporting an Incident, all class A misdemeanors. She faces up to eight years in prison.

Briley, 26, was similarly charged with fifth degree Grand Larceny and Conspiracy.  He faces up to six years in prison.  Both were held pending arraignment in the City of Oneonta court.
