IN MEMORIAM: Gwendolyn A. Laing, 78;

Oneontan Retired From Coachmen RVs

ONEONTA – Oneonta native Gwendolyn Anne Laing, 78, of Bristol, Inc., who retired after 25 years with Coachmen Industries in Middlebury, Inc., passed away  Thursday, Sept 26. 2019, at Hospice House in Elkhart, Inc.

Gwen was born on April 10, 1941, in Oneonta, to Marius M. And Lena Jorgensen.

In addition to working for Coachmen, she was an alternate newspaper delivery driver for the South Bend Tribune, Elkhart Truth, Goshen News and the Wall Street Journal.

She loved gardening, bowling, NASCAR and fishing and crocheting.

Gwen is survived by her son, Brian J. (Rhonda) Laing of Houston, Texas; her daughter, Mary A.  Hershberger of Bristol, Ind.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Also, sister Nancy (Ed) Doty of Angola, Ind., Carol (Conrad) Boglioli, Town of Maryland, and Karen S. (Charles) Mann, Mount Vision.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert M. Jorgensen and Thomas M. Jorgensen.

Calling hours are 5-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. Memorial donations may be made to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, In 46545.
