Matt Hazzard returned today as executive director of the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce, after almost five months battling Hodgkin’s lymphona. He holds up a plaque naming him an honorary member of the “20 Under 40” Class of 2015, which was to be presented to him in February on the day he was diagnosed at Bassett and quickly transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for specialized treatment. A “Friends Helping Friends” golf tournament is planned to benefit the Hazzard family Aug. 22 at Colonial Ridge Golf Course, followed by a dinner at the Sportsmen’s Club in Fly Creek.
