The Baseball Hall of Fame is reporting 45,000 fans attended the Biggio-Johnson-Martinez-Smoltz induction yesterday, the fourth largest crowd in the event's history. The record is 82,000, from 2007, when Cal Ripken Jr. and Tony Gwynn were inducted. In 1999, when Nolan Ryan led a roster of superstars, brought 50,000.
