IN MEMORIAM: Vera C. Young, 81;

Keith Clark Employee, Unatego Driver

PORTLANDVILLE — Vera C. Young, 81, formerly of Otego at a bus driver in the Unatego Central School District, passed away on Christmas Day.

She was born on July 13, 1938 in Oneonta. She married her high school sweetheart Charles “Chuck” Robert Young on May 26, 1957. He predeceased her in 1996.

She is survived by her 5 sons, John, Brian, Craig, Jeff, and Chuck Young; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and her brother, Al Johnston of Missouri.

Vera worked for many years at Keith Clark in Sidney, and drove school bus for Unatego Central School.

Vera loved her sons, flowers and gardening, all her pets, and baking, especially for the bus garage. She was also an avid fan of watching baseball, softball and football on tv.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta, from 5-7 pm where a time of sharing will take place immediately following at 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Vera to Susquehanna Animal Shelter, 4841 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
