ONEONTA – Hospitalist Robert A. Zukas, D.O., has joined the staff of Fox Hospital.
Dr. Zukas earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Duquesne and his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Saint Anthony Family Medicine in Oklahoma City, and is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians
He practiced for the last three years at Saints Family Medicine in Norman, Okla.
Killer Knapp Dies In Prison; Guilty In SUNY Coed's Death Ricky Knapp ONEONTA – Ricky Knapp, the man convicted of the 1977 death of SUNY Oneonta student, has died in Mohawk Correctional Facility, according to prison records. Knapp, 66, died March 8, having served 40 years of a 25-to-life sentence for a 1978 manslaughter conviction in the death of 18-year-old Linda Velzy, a SUNY student from Long Island. from Danny Lapin RSS Housing Project Not Right For Oneonta To the Editor: The proposed housing project by Rehabilitation Support Services (RSS) of Altamont in Oneonta’s Sixth Ward is a flawed development. RSS wants taxpayers to pay for it; they trying to circumvent public input and they’re using strong-arm tactics to get approval to start construction. Therefore, I oppose it. RSS wants to build a 64-unit project for low- and moderate-income people that will include 14 apartments reserved for individuals recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. Subsidized rents will range from $520 to $1,067, well below market rates for Oneonta.…
