IN MEMORIAM: Albert F. Riedel, 88;
GE Engineer, Fish & Game Club Founder
BURLINGTON FLATS – Albert F. Riedel, 88, of Burlington Flats, a retired electrical engineer at General Electric in Utica, passed away Wednesday November 4, 2020 in Cooperstown.
Albert was born on Dec. 10, 1931, in Croton-on-Hudson, son of the late Donald and Nina (Porter) Riedel.
A lifetime resident of the area, Albert was an Air Force veteran. An avid outdoorsman, he was a founding member of the Burlington Flats Fish & Game Club, and enjoyed hunting. He retired from GE in 1992.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Janette in 2001, a son Kent in 2012, and a brother Allen Riedel.
He is survived by his sons Kirk (Leanne) Riedel of Burlington Flats, and Craig Riedel of SanFranciso, CA, his daughter in law Angie Riedel, three grandchildren Katherine Riedel, Amanda Taylor, and Kaitlyn Riedel, and a brother Donald Riedel of Arkansas.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Taylor Hill Cemetery.
