Huge Crowd Turns Out
For Polar Bear Auction
An hour into today’s Chinese auction to benefit the Goodyear Lake Polar Bear Jump the crowd was still lined up down the hall from the Milford Central School gym to the door, waiting to buy tickets by the fistful and take a chance at getting a bargain on hundreds of donated items. In top photo, Lydia Garlick of Milford puts a ticket in one of the bags that lined the walls. At right, Laurie Burch of Milford and her grandson, Michael Virtell, queue up to buy their tickets. This year’s Polar Bear Jump, organized by Jamie and Brenda Waters of Milford for the 21st year, is Saturday, Feb. 20. (JIm Kevlin/AllOTSEGO.com)
Thank you to the people and businesses that donated items, to all the volunteers for your efforts to make everything run smoothly and to all the people who came out in support of this fundraising event. On behalf of the Portlandville Methodist Church, a huge thank you to Stewart’s, Springbrook and especially New York Pizzeria. You helped us feed a lot of hungry people today and we are so appreciative.
