Police: Shotgun, Rifle Stolen,
Suspect Faces More Charges
ONEONTA – A rifle and shotgun found during a January traffic stop were discovered to have been stolen from a Delaware County home, according to the Otsego County Sheriff’s Office.
Jeremy J. Morris, 32, Oneonta, was arrested on Jan. 13, following a traffic stop where he, a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle, a rifle, a shotgun and to be operating a vehicle without a license, according to the Sheriff’s Department. An investigation by the State Police revealed that the weapons had been reported stolen by a homeowner in Delaware County.
While in jail on charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Morris was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree. He will appear in court on the new charge on March 3.
