Bright Hill Center Appoints

Part-Time Managing Director

TREADWELL – Donna Dvoracek of Edmeston has been named part-time managing director of the Bright Hill Press & Bright Hill Literary Center, President Michael Hammerslag announced today.

Dvoracek will work directly with Bertha Rogers, founding artistic director (formerly founding executive director) under the guidance of BHLC’s Board of Directors.

With Rogers, she will supervise BHLC’s administrative assistant, Lawrence E. Shaw, as well as seasonal interns and library and office volunteers.

Dvoracek brings more than 30 years of experience in marketing, public relations, advertising, event planning, and grant writing. She served in the Navy and has worked for both for-profit and non-profit organizations during her career.

Donna is also an author who has published works of poetry, articles, and photography in numerous newspapers and magazines across the country.

She holds a B..S in communications from James Madison University and a M.S. in Recreation with a focus on Outdoor and Environmental Education from SUNY Cortland.

She is an active member of the Grants Professional Association and serves as the Vice President of her local chapter; she is also a lifetime member of Girl Scouts. Dvoracek is looking forward to giving back to the community of Treadwell where she spent summers with her family as in a young child.

Donna’s appointment is made possible by the REDC (Rural Economic Development Council grant for projects designed to enhance and transform the cultural and economic vitality of New York State communities. Arts and culture activities enrich and strengthen community, civic and social life in New York State. Successful proposals, such as Bright Hill’s, demonstrate significant economic and community development impact that positions arts, culture and heritage at the core of local development and revitalization efforts.
