Rentapplication.com Finds Oneonta
Ninth Best Place To Live In NY State
Oneonta ranks ninth on the annual 50 Best Places To Live in New York assembled by rentapplication.com and released today.
The ranking calls the City of the Hills “a lively Upstate village with a population of about 21,000 well -regarded for its family friendly vibe, academic excellence, economic prosperity, and natural beauty.
“Throughout the year, the city participates in fresh-produce markets and festivals. The city boasts Victorian style buildings, an orchestra, and a science museum.”
Oneonta is the only Otsego County community on the list, although Norwich in neighboring Chenango County is 21st.
The leading place to live, according to the survey, is White Plains, “an affluent suburb north of New York City, White Plains is a commerical hub of close to one million residents.”
The ranking is described as a combination of Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Education Rankings, Citizen Satisfaction ratings, Natural Language Analysis and rentapplication.com’s own research.
