Bill Coleman’s Thrill Of A Lifetime

Bill Coleman of Pierstown, right, hit his first-ever a hole-in-one at about 11 a.m. yesterday on the ninth hole of The Otesaga's Leatherstocking Golf Course. Here, Tim Feury of Cooperstown, who was playing with Bill and Bill Glocker, offers congratulations. "We knew he hit a good shot," Glockler recounted, "but we couldn't see it go in the hole because of the ninth green being elevated and it disappeared over a slight rise on the green." When the trio got to the green, they discovered Coleman's ball in the cup. It played 158 yards to an elevated green, so it was playing like 165-70," said Glockler. "It was very exciting and his first hole-in-one." (Bill Glockler photo)
