Kristin Ratliff is all bright colors and a brighter smile, and with good reason. In May, the track star suffered cardiac arrest at a meet and underwent surgery to fix an undiagnosed heart condition. She said in an earlier interview that she was looking forward to returning to running.

COOPERSTOWN – Runners had more than just smiles and sweat to show for their efforts at this morning’s Color Run, which saw participants splashed with colored pigments as they ran a 5k through the streets of Cooperstown.

The race’s 300 participants had to pass through four color stations, where volunteers threw colored pigments as they ran by.

The race benefited the American Heart Association and was sponsored by the school’s Leadership Training for Athletes program.  The winner was Lydia Dillon, Oneonta, and Kristin Ratliff, the CCS track star who suffered a cardiac arrest at a meet in May, also ran part of the course.

Piper Seamon 5th CCS Girl To Hit High Mark The Cooperstown Central student section erupts as Piper Seamon scores her 1,000th career point in the Hawkeyes’ 57-39 win over Waterville at home last evening.
