Ribbon Cut On Toonie Moonie,
Healthy Marshmallow Treats
Dozens of wellwishers at this hour are at a party and ribbon-cutting at the new Toonie Moonie plant on Route 28 between Cooperstown and Fly Creek, as proprietor Kim Condon takes her production of organic marshmallow crème to the next level. In top photo, Operations Manager Thomas Tuthill of Treadwell gives a tour of the commercial kitchen, which is located in the Oberriters’ former Cooperstown Bat headquarters, to – among others – Flerida Santana of Stamford, left, and Donna Ward of Hobart. At right, Condon confers with her caterer, Heather Pikul of 221 Bakery, Oneonta. Condon founded the business in 2006 in Oneonta with a double goal: providing a natural equivalent for people who can’t eat marshmallows, and creating a sweet treat for all.
