Deputies Say Teen Driver Under Influence
Of Drugs, Speeding In Fatal Crash In May
COOPERSTOWN – A teenager from Charlotteville, Schoharie County, is facing aggravated vehicular homicide and other felony charges after he was arrested this week by Otsego County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Paul J. Clark, Jr., 18, was impaired by drugs and speeding when he crashed his Saturn into the back of a Fedex truck on Route 40 near South Worcester shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, May 16, Investigator Michael Ten Eyck reported yesterday.
A passenger, Devon McMahon, died in the crash; a second, Maureen Clark, was seriously injured.
Clark surrendered at the sheriff’s office. He was arraigned by Worcester Judge Brian Keenan and posted a $10,000 bond. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison on the aggravated vehicular homicide charge. D.A. John M. Muehl is prosecuting.
