ONEONTA – The runner hit by a car on West Street in front of Hartwick College is in stable condition and undergoing surgery at Bassett Hospital following last night's accident.

Daniel Gilbert, 21, a Hartwick College senior originally from Andover, Mass., was hit by a car driven by Kathleen Feeney, 34, Oneonta, city police report.

According to Oneonta Police Lt. Douglas Brenner, a group of runners was crossing West Street by the entrance to Hartwick College when Gilbert allegedly hesitated before crossing.
