Life-Long Farmer In Springfield
SPRINGFIELD CENTER – David A. King, 72, of 367 Hinds Road, a life-long farmer, passed away on Sept. 7, 2016, in his home.
He was born Oct. 9, 1943, to Mary Helen Walrath and Byron Clinton King in the Town of Warren.
He graduated from Owen D. Young Central School in 1963 and went on to pursue a career in his first love, farming.
He spent the past 29 years in semi-retirement working with Dolle Vilargos on her farm and claiming his spot as an irreplaceable and loved member of Dolle’s family. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by wife Silvia; three daughters, Elva, Silvia and Ruth King, all of Cooperstown; granddaughter Patricia and her father Brendan Bragg, and several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, as well as his sister Elizabeth Cooper and Albert Kent of Fort Plains.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Springfield Center Baptist Church on Route 80. Burial will follow at Van Hornesville Cemetery.
