Police: Andes Man Found
With Heroin At Traffic Stop
ONEONTA – A 21-year-old was arrested after K9 units and Oneonta police found 12.5 grams of powdered heroin, as well as Oxycodon and cash in his car during a traffic stop in Center City.
Austin I. Rose, Andes, was arrested after police stopped his 2006 Chrysler on Center Street. During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly found 12.5 grams of powdered heroin, with a street value of $8,300, four Oxycodone pills, and $3,769 in cash.
Rose was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, class B felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony, as well as the class A misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree.
Assisting with the investigation after the stop were the OPD’s Detective Division, State Police and Delaware County Sheriff Department with K-9 Ozzie.
If convicted on all charges, Rose faces a maximum sentence of 41 years incarceration.
