Center City Thief
ONEONTA – A fingerprint found at the scene of one of the eight Center City burglaries lead police to arrest an Oneonta man and charge him with eight felonies and three misdemeanors.
Nicholas M. McDonald, 26, was arrested after police identified him using fingerprints lifted from the scene. His fingerprints were on file from a previous arrest, according to Lt. Douglas Brenner.
He was charged with three counts of burglary in the second degree, a class C felony, for entering and stealing from occupied dwellings, as well as Grand Larceny in the third degree, a class D felony, for stealing a car. He was also charged with four counts of Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, a class E felony, for taking credit cards.
Additionally, he was charged with the Class A misdemeanors of Petit Larceny and Criminal mischief in the fourth degree. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to 67 years incarceration.
This investigation is still open and ongoing.
