WAMC Raises $1 Million
In Record 3-Plus Days
Albany-based Northeast Public Radio WAMC, which serves Otsego County, announced at 11:35 a.m. it has reached its $1 million fundraising coach “in three days and a morning,” according to announcer Joe Donahue.
“That’s amazing,” said Alan Chartock, WAMC president, on the record completion of the thrice-annual fund drive.
The station immediately cut to “God Bless America.”
Not too long ago, the fund drive routinely took two weeks or more.
