Eichlers’ Spruce Selected
As Rockefeller Center Tree
ONEONTA – The towering Norway Spruce in Angie and Greg Eichler’s Oneonta yard is destined to become the 2016 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, according to a press release sent this morning.
“It’s a gorgeous tree,” said Brady Littlefield, the VP of Rubenstein, the marketing company promoting the tree lighting for Rockefeller Center. “We’re very excited.”
The tree will be cut down Thursday, Nov. 10, and will arrive in midtown Manhattan on the 12th.
The tree will be wrapped in more than 50,000 multi-colored LED lights and topped with a Swarovski star. The tree lighting ceremony will be broadcast nationwide as part of NBC’s yearly “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” special on Nov. 30. It will remain on display until Jan. 7, 2017.
