3 World Series Trophies At Hall This Weekend
COOPERSTOWN – This weekend, Red Sox fans will have a chance to see their team’s three recent World Series trophies at the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Hall will display the trophies and artifacts from the 2013 World Series in the “Autumn Glory” exhibit on the Museum’s third floor Saturday and Sunday, which will also include the following artifacts:
• Bat used by World Series MVP David Ortiz in Game 5
• Spikes worn throughout the World Series by closer Koji Uehara
• Jacket worn in Game 6 by Red Sox Manager John Farrell
• Catcher’s helmet and mask worn by Red Sox catcher David Ross
• Glove used through the 2013 postseason by Red Sox shortstop Stephen Drew
• Batting gloves used by Boston rookie Xander Bogaerts during the World Series
• Jacket worn by umpire crew chief John Hirschbeck during the World Series
• The official score sheet from Game 1, the first World Series game scored by a Japanese-born writer, Gaku Tashiro of Sankei Sports
• The fake beard Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk wore when he threw out the ceremonial first pitch in Game 6
Autumn Glory will feature the 2013 Red Sox artifacts through the end of the 2014 World Series, when artifacts from the most recent Fall Classic will be put on exhibit. For more information on Red Sox Weekend at the Hall of Fame, visit www.baseballhall.org.
