COOPERSTOWN – Word surfaced in recent days that two key government officials are leaving for new positions:

• Scott Fickbohm, Burlington Flats, longtime district manager of the USDA’s Soil & Water Conservation District, Phoenix Mills, has accepted a position overseeing state Department of Ag & Markets programs in 13 Central New York counties, including Otsego. Among many other initiatives he helped develop the Canadarago Lake Watershed Protection Plan.

• Psalm Wyckoff, Westford, county planner under Planning Director Karen Sullivan, has accepted a position in the state Department of Environmental Conservation’s Mineland Reclamation Program, effective Aug. 20. She will continue to live locally and commute to Albany, Sullivan told the county Board of Representatives last week.
