FLY CREEK – Kathleen M. Chase, 48, a tax assessor for three local towns, died Wednesday, May 24,2017
Born Jan. 23, 1969, in Cooperstown, Kathleen was the daughter of Donald W. Chase and Carol (Winnie) Butts. She graduated from Cooperstown High School, Class of 1987.
Kathleen loved deeply and wholeheartedly with everything she had. She was always ready and willing to help anyone in need. Her family has been blessed to learn many valuable lessons from her during her short 48 years here with them, including to always smile and not dwell on the past. Kathleen always brought constant laughter with her presence wherever she was. Some of her favorite activities were spending time at the farm, hunting and fishing. She loved her abundant vegetable and flower gardens and her cook outs on Buck Road with “the Buck Road Boys.”
Kathleen loved being “Aunt Teen” to her nieces and nephews Kris, Aubrey, Kyrie, Alex, Luke, Quincey and especially Wyatt and Allison whom she saw on a daily basis. Always busy, Kathleen loved going on new adventures every day.
She was for many years the tax assessor for the Towns of Morris, New Lisbon and Milford and was respected and appreciated for her deep sense of fairness and her principled approach to her job. She was always willing to be open and to listen to everyone.
