MILFORD CENTER – Springbrook planning a ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m. next Thursday, July 20, to celebrate the opening of its newest buillding, the Springbrook Family-Engagement Center.
Families, residents, administrators, and several of the organization’s key supporters have been invited to the opening. Passersby on Route 28 have been watching the building rise for the past several months.
Currently there are 230 people, 70 on the main campus and 160 in community homes, cared for 24/7. The Engagement Center will be available to visiting family members, who come from 30 Upstate counties.
The facility is 100 donor-funded and is part of the Springbrook 2020 Strategic Plan.
“As our organization expands,” said Springbrook President Patricia Kennedy, “we remain committed to family in any form – whether it is friends, parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, or uncles. We are thankful to the partners, donors, and supporters who made it possible.”
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be followed by an afternoon of activities, including a Fun Run/Walk and an evening movie screening in the new building. The Fun Run is open to the public, $20 for individuals and $80 for groups up to six.
