IN MEMORIAM: Mary Foti;
Worked For 5 Congressmen
ONEONTA – Mary G. Foti, who worked for five congressman in the course of her career, died July 31, 2017, at Fox Nursing Home.
Mary was the daughter of John and Lena (Cologero) Foti. She was born and raised in Oneonta. She lived in Syracuse for 35 years, moving to Washington, D.C., and retiring back to Oneonta.
Mary’s working career varied, most notably working for congressional representatives in Onondaga County, Syracuse and Washington, D.C., five in all.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her sister, Angelena Richards; twin brothers, Vincent Foti and Patrick Foti; she adored her niece and many nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, and a brother, Thomas Foti.
In accordance to Mary’s wishes, she only wanted a graveside service which will be 11 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with the Rev. David Mickiewicz. She had requested no visitation or funeral mass.
