After High-Speed Chase, Suspect
Leaps From Moving Car, Police Say
WORCESTER – A 22-year-old driver is facing multiple charges after he leaped from his moving car in this hamlet after trying to elude deputies in a high-speed chase, county Sheriff Richard J. Devlin Jr. reported today.
After a brief chase on foot, Tristen R. Caballer of Worcester was found in the basement of relative’s home; he “physically resisted arrest” and was apprehended, according to a press release.
The chase down Route 7 began about 8:30 Wednesday evening after deputies attempted to serve a Westford Town Court warrant on the suspect. Deputies were assisted by state police and K9s.
The suspect was charged with driving 100 mph in a 55 mph zone, and 75 in a 40; reckless driving, fleeing a police officer, driving without a license, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
Caballer was arraigned in Worcester Town Court and sent to county jail on $2,000 cash bail or a $4,000 bond.
