IN MEMORIAM: Lenny Talbot, 71;
Edmeston Native Dies In Cortland
EDMESTON – Lenny (Leonard) O. Talbot, 71, formerly of Edmeston, a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, passed away in Cortland on April 22, 2018.
He was born April 12, 1947, in Oneonta, the eldest son of Vane and Eleanor (Payne) Talbot.
Lenny attended and graduated from Edmeston Central School in 1965. He also attended Albany Business College. He enjoyed sports while in school.
He became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1974. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cortland. He enjoyed sharing the Bible and his hope for the future with everyone.
He had a love of creation and enjoyed growing and planting flowers.
He is survived by his five children, Bethany O’Dell (Samuel), April O’Dell (William), Onalee Bouton (Jason) of New Berlin, Erica Cruz (Benjamin) of Oneonta and Joel Talbot (CaSandra) of New Berlin; two brothers, Donald Talbot (Joyce) of Edmeston, and Ronnie Talbot (Peggy) of Fort Thomas, Ky.; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 29, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cortland. Gary Barwig will share the encouraging biblical hope that Lenny had.
